To provide a display device for illuminating the whole light guide plate by guiding light incident on the light guide plate from a light source to the whole guide plate.
The display device includes: a transparent character plate 51 for providing a dark color based shading printing layer 56 removing a part equivalent to design; the light guide plate 52 arranged on the front face of the transparent character plate 51; and the light source making light incident on the light guide plate 52. The display device includes a polycarbonate substrate 54 between the transparent character plate 51 and the light guide plate 52, a white layer 59 for printing on the front face rather than a shading printing layer 56 of the edge part of the transparent character plate 51, and the light guide plate 52 so that a part facing the white printing layer 59 out of the front face of the light guide plate 51 is vertical to a direction from a rear face to the front face.
