This control device of the internal combustion engine mixedly using a plurality of fuels different in an octane value, has a fuel supply means supplying the fuel to the internal combustion engine, an octane value detecting means (S103) detecting a value associated to the octane value of the fuel supplied to the internal combustion engine, and an ignition method switching means (S104) operating the internal combustion engine by premixed compressed self-ignition, when determining as being lower than a predetermined value, by operating the internal combustion engine by spark ignition, when determining that the octane value is the predetermined value or more on the basis of the value detected by the octane value detecting means.
