Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polycarbonate resin granule having a uniform particle diameter, with an extremely small content of an organic solvent, especially a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent, used in the manufacture of the granule in a stable and highly productive manner. SOLUTION: A water slurry or a humid paste of a polycarbonate resin with the ratio of the polycarbonate resin and the organic solvent at 90:10 to 35:65 in terms of weight ratio and the ratio of water to the polycarbonate resin at 5 pts.wt or more to 100 pts.wt, is dehydrated and finely ground inside an extruder. Next, the grinds are extruded as a coagulation of a fine powder and the extrusions are cut or ground to obtain the polycarbonate resin granule. In the method for manufacturing the polycarbonate resin granule, the water is injected into a spot where the water slurry or the humid paste is finely ground inside the extruder, at the ratio of 0.1 to 20 pts.wt: 100 pts.wt of the polycarbonate resin.
