Abstract:

To provide a means capable of preventing incomplete regeneration of a DPF due to unstable control of the exhaust gas temperature etc. during DPF regeneration, in a diesel engine making fuel injection irregular when fuel is reduced and performing DPF regeneration.

In the diesel engine 1, normally, when the particulate collection amount of the filter 28 exceeds a first predetermined amount, the filter 28 is regenerated by performing postinjection of fuel from the fuel injection valve 9. Along with the operation of the engine 1, when fuel residual amount becomes below a first set value, a warning lamp 50 is lit. When the fuel residual amount becomes below a second set value, fuel injection is made irregular, and when it becomes below a third set value, fuel injection for producing power of the engine 1 is stopped. When the fuel residual amount becomes below the second set value and the fuel injection is irregularly performed, regeneration of the filter 28 is stopped or prohibited.
