Abstract:
An electrophotographic toner is disclosed. The toner is composed of a dye chelatable with a metal represented by the formula (1) and a copper compound represented by the formula (2) and a thermoplastic resin: In the formula, R1, R2, R3, and R4 each represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent. Z1 represents a 5 or 6-membered heterocyclic ring containing at least one nitrogen atom, which heterocyclic ring may have a substituent or form a condensed ring. Z2 represents a 5 or 6-membered heterocyclic ring which heterocyclic ring may have a substituent or form a condensed ring. Cu2+(X1)m(X2)n.W1 formula (2) wherein X1 and X2 are each a monodentate or didentate ligand, provided that X1 and X2 may link with each other which may be the same or different from each other; n and m are each an integer of 0 to 2; W1 is a counter ion when a counter ion is required for neutralization of charge.
