Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tsunami shelter for enabling evacuation from tsunami waves when great earthquake occurs.SOLUTION: A floor 12 of an evacuation room 3 is set higher than a ceiling lowermost part 15 of an entrance 2 of a tsunami shelter body 1 for avoiding the entry of a level of sea water 13 through the inside into the evacuation room 3 in the case of a disaster, and release 14 of an oxygen cylinder or an air cylinder protects evacuees 16. Since the air tightness of the evacuation room 3 does not depend on the opening/closing of an entrance door 8, there is no need for closing the door 8 during evacuation and no fear that the entrance 2 is blocked during escape. The inclination of the outer wall, the sufficient dead weight of the tsunami shelter 1 itself, and fixture 5 to a ground function to resist the pressure of tsunami waves and collision 18 with rubbles swept away by the tsunami waves.
