Abstract:

To provide an aluminum alloy sheet for a planographic printing plate, which has uniform pits efficiently formed thereon and produces no unetched part when having been subjected to electrochemical surface roughening treatment, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.

This aluminum alloy sheet includes such an amount of solution Cu as the relationship between the amount of the solution Cu in an Al matrix and a Cu content satisfies ä(amount of solution Cu in Al matrix)/(Cu content)}×100≥75%. Thus manufactured aluminum alloy sheet acquires a balanced potential difference between the Al matrix and an intermetallic compound CuAl2and a balanced number of reaction initiation points, and can be wholly and uniformly etched when having been subjected to the electrochemical surface roughening treatment capable of giving an adequate pit size and pit density.
