To provide an IP address delivery system which more properly delivers an IP address and which suppresses a reduction of a processing speed due to a communication delay caused by being distanced and a congestion of communication lines among servers.
Each of a connection management device 140 and a connection management device 240 independently perform a pruning process on IP addresses which have once been delivered to users but are not expected to be used for a while out of IP addresses owned and managed by the connection management device 140 and the connection management device 240. At this time, the connection management devices do not immediately update the IP addresses to an unused state but update them once to a pruning state and stops the delivery for a while. This prevents delivering an identical IP address to different users respectively from the connection management device 140 and the connection management device 240 irrespective of a synchronous processing not performed between the connection management device 140 and the connection management device 240.
