To provide an independent hydrogen producing system using a hydrogen producing device capable of producing the gas containing hydrogen at a low temperature, also capable of operating by only electric energy supplied from a fuel cell and requiring no large electric energy.
In the independent hydrogen producing system at least providing a hydrogen producing cell (10) constituting the hydrogen producing device, auxiliary machines (16) and (17) for operating the hydrogen producing device and the fuel cell (33) for supplying the electric energy to the auxiliary machines (16) and (17), the hydrogen producing device produces the gas containing the hydrogen by decomposing the fuel containing an organic matter and the device is provided with a diaphragm (11), a fuel electrode (12) provided on one surface of the diaphragm (11), a means for supplying the fuel containing the organic matter and water to the fuel electrode (12), an oxidation electrode (14) provided on the other surface of the diaphragm (11), a means for supplying an oxidizing agent to the oxidation electrode (14) and a means for generating the gas containing the hydrogen from the fuel electrode (12) side and taking out the gas.
