Abstract:
To search for a substance which can be used as a pigmentation marker.
A method for determining degree of pigmentation includes the measurement of the expression of specific protein in skin cell and/or skin tissue (including a three-dimensional skin model). The expression of specific protein is enhanced in accordance with the degree of pigmentation or is changed depending on degree of factor of pigmentation. A kit for determining degree of pigmentation and a method for identifying a substance being effective for preventing and/or improving pigmentation are provided.
