To provide a percussion instrument which attains an effective muting function in the percussion instrument comprising a drum head stretched on an opening face of a body main section.

Lugs 30 are arranged with appropriate intervals in a circumference face of the body main section 20 in its lengthwise direction. A tension bolt 100 can be connected to the lug 30 via a guide 110 with a step, in which a long hole 107 for sliding is formed. A thickness section of the guide 110 with a step is composed of a first thickness section (a thick plate section), a second thickness section (a thin plate section) which is thinner than the first thickness section, and a middle section which gradually changes between both thickness sections, along a length direction of the long hole 107 for sliding, and thereby, stretching force of the drum head 10 is easily changed by fastening the tension bolt 100.
