To provide a radar system which measures the speed of a target accurately.
The radar system for measuring the distance, angle, and relative speed of the target by transmitting radio waves includes a target moving direction determination means for determining the moving direction of the target with the normal direction of the front-facing direction of the radar set to be X and a target speed calculation means for calculating the speed of the target on the basis of the determination result of the target moving direction determination means. When it includes been determined by the target moving direction determination means that the target is moving in the X direction, the target speed calculation means calculates the X-direction speed of the target on the basis of (V-Vs*cosθ)/sinθ (where θ is the angle of the target with respect to the front-facing direction of the radar system, V is the relative speed measured by the radar, and Vs is the speed of one's own vehicle).
