To provide a new biological means decomposing polybutylene succinate resin by a method hardly causing a bad influence upon natural environment, low energy and capable of circulative recovery, and to provide a method for decomposing the resin by using the new biological means.
As the new biological means, a filamentous fungus belonging to genus Fusarium is used. Fusarium sp. P7 strain (FERM P-20610) and Fusarium sp. P2 strain (FERM P-20804) are preferably used. As the decomposition method using the new biological means, the resin is decomposed by coming into contact with the filamentous fungus with the polybutylene succinate resin. The contact may be performed in the soil. Even the resin containing rice starch may be decomposed.
