Abstract:
To further reduce hull resistance by improving a stern shape.
The stern shape includes a wedge 4 fixed to a stern bottom face 3 of a high speed ship without any clearance, and having an inclined face 5 inclined rearwardly and downwardly with respect to the stern bottom face 3 on a longitudinal section of the hull. A straightening vane 10 protruding downward from the wedge 4 and extending from a pressure increasing part of the wedge 4 toward the stern 2 is provided to adjust flow around the wedge 4, and also prevents formation of flow from the wedge 4 toward the outside.
