To provide a radio communication device and a radio communication method achieving high-speed data communication with low power consumption and appropriately controlling a terminal to be connected in the data communication.
A first transmitting/receiving part transmits and receives signals by carrier wave in a first frequency band. A second transmitting/receiving part transmits and receives the signals by carrier wave in a second frequency band which is different from the first frequency band. A control part enables the data communication with the terminal to be connected by transmitting and receiving a control signal in the first frequency band using the first transmitting/receiving part. When the data communication with a plurality of terminals is enabled, a terminal to be connected is selected from among the plurality of terminals, and data is transmitted/received to/from the selected terminal in the second frequency band using the second transmitting/receiving part.
