Abstract:
The sanitizing and embossing device has three embossing rolls with two embossing rolls set to be in contact. A packaging foil is passed under pressure between two different sets of rolls to produce a satin finish and a pattern. One embossing roll has a tooth array while the two other rolls has a different surface structure with structural components arranged circularly longitudinally or helically or in groups but not in the same basic grid as the first roll. Each structural component has an individual teeth (35) or a continuously formed ridge or a combination. An independent claim is also included for sanitizing and embossing method for packaging foils.
