Abstract:

To provide a method intended basically for effective treatment can suppress the leaching of fluorine, selenium, chromium, etc., from waste and further for sure and sufficient reduction of the leaching amounts of selenium and fluorine to levels required by environmental quality standards.

Provided is a method for treating toxic components by solidifying waste comprising adding cement and/or lime under agitation to waste containing selenium, boron, and other toxic substances, hydrothermally treating the mixture, and curing the obtained hydrothermally solidified product by immersion in an aqueous solution of lime.
