Abstract:

To provide a porous separator for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell with a good heat removal property, and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell using the separator, having a good heat removal property, with less temperature rise at the time of charging and discharging and with high safety.

The porous separator for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell has a thermal conductivity in a thickness direction of 0.5 W/(m K) or more. The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell is equipped with a negative electrode and a positive electrode capable of absorbing and releasing lithium, a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a nonaqueous solvent and lithium salt and the above porous separator.
