To provide a pitch control agent capable of efficiently removing a pitch component to the outside of a system from a raw material pulp slurry and a water drainage of a pulp to be reused, in order to effectively suppress and prevent a pitch trouble in a production process of the pulp and paper.

The pitch control agent contains a terpene alcohol. Further, the pitch control agent contains a compound consisting of a polyoxyalkylene group represented by general formula: HO-(AO)n-H (wherein, AO is a 2-4C oxyalkylene group; and n is an integer of 1-200).
