Abstract:

To provide an exhaust system cooling structure for efficiently cooling an exhaust manifold, and restraining air that becomes high temperature due to exposure to the exhaust manifold from adversely affecting the other components.

Outside air is exposed to the exhaust manifold 48 through a first duct 30, a first dummy flow passage 38, a second dummy flow passage 44, and a second duct 56 during vehicle running to efficiently cool the exhaust manifold 48. A shutter 58 of the second duct 56 is closed in a vehicle stationary state to stop leakage of air heated due to cooling the exhaust manifold 48 into an engine compartment from an upper part of the second duct 56, thus preventing components in the engine compartment from being adversely affected by the heat.
