Abstract:
A wire electric discharge machine is provided with an automatic wire-connection pipe (4) movable between an automatic wire connection position and a retracted position. A pickup unit (8) configured to clamp a wire electrode (1) to be cut is disposed below a wire cutting electrode (5) on the outlet side of the automatic wire-connection pipe. The wire electric discharge machine is further provided with a stopper mechanism (14) configured to regulate a movement of the automatic wire-connection pipe (4) so that a distal end of a nozzle (9) of the automatic wire-connection pipe (4) is located between the wire cutting electrode (5) and the pickup unit (8) when the wire electrode (1) is cut.
