To provide an apparatus for maturing banana whose facility cost is relatively low and which can simply adjust the volume of a maturing chamber in response to the number of arrivals of banana containers.
The apparatus 1 for maturing banana includes a differential pressure type maturing chamber 2 divided with a floor 21, a front side bulkhead 22, a rear side bulkhead 23, both side bulkheads 24 and a ceiling bulkhead 25, banana containers 9 set to the inside of the maturing chamber 2, and blowers 3 for forming air flows in the maturing chamber 2, wherein the front side bulkhead 22 is formed of a sheet material, and a moving mechanism for moving the front side bulkhead 22 toward the rear side bulkhead 23 is disposed. In the sheet material for forming the front side bulkhead 22, regions corresponding to passages present between the rows of the banana containers 9 preferably have a larger rigidity than regions corresponding to the front side portions of the banana containers 9.
