A remote control application terminal 1-1 is equipped with: an IP address requesting part 101 for sending a response request to all infra-red generating apparatuses 2 on the network NW; an IP address acquiring part 102 for receiving a response to the response request; a list displaying part 103 for displaying a list of the infra-red generating apparatuses 2 having received the response to allow a user select to any one of the apparatuses in the list; a light emission requesting part 104 for transmitting a light emission request to the selected infra-red generating apparatus 2; and an IP address setting part 105 for storing the ID data of the selected infra-red generating apparatus 2 depending on determination by user. The infra-red generating apparatus 2 is equipped with: an IP address responding part 202 for transmitting the response containing the ID data of the own apparatus to the remote control terminal 1 upon reception of the response request; and a light emitting part 204 for operating a light emitting module in the own apparatus upon reception of the light emission request in such a manner that a user recognizably operates it.
