The standing assist chair includes: a chair 1 provided with a seat part 11 for making a care receiver M sit and a backrest 12 continued to the seat part 11 for supporting the back of the care receiver M; and an elevating/lowering mechanism connected to the chair 1 and expanded and contracted by the drive of a driving means 3 to elevate and lower the chair. In the standing assist chair, an elevated position at the rear side part near the backrest 12 of the seat part 11 in the chair 1 elected by the elevating/lowering mechanism is higher than an elevated position at the front side part separated from the backrest 12 of the seat part 11 in the chair 1.
