To provide an imaging apparatus capable of supplying detection information on a specific area of the optimal object image by every application to be utilized.

The imaging apparatus includes: a detection means 12 in which a first object image, or a second object image to be obtained by performing predetermined processing to the first object image is input to detect the specific area of the object image; a first processing means 9 for performing predetermined processing using detection information of the detection means 12 when the first object image is input; a second processing means 6 for performing predetermined processing using detection information of the detection means 12 when the second object image is input; and a control means 14 for making the detection means 12 input the first object image and the second object image by switching them by every predetermined period.
