Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic clad optical fiber in which increase in transmission loss is suppressed even under thermal and humidity environment.SOLUTION: A plastic clad optical fiber 1 has a clad layer 3 formed by curing a curable resin composition and arranged on an outer periphery of a core layer 2 composed of quartz glass, and equilibrium elastic modulus of the clad layer 3 is not less than 30 MPa and not more than 35 MPa. The equilibrium elastic modulus can be calculated from the result of storage elastic modulus in dynamic viscoelasticity. The curable resin composition that forms the clad layer 3 includes a tri- or higher functional monomer.
