To provide a charcoal plastic member for building or as a building material, which contains a charcoal prepared by a special method as a main component, performance of which is unchanged even when its surface is damaged, and which is excellent in deodorization and conductivity.

The charcoal plastic member excellent in deodorization and conductivity is prepared in such a manner that carbonization occurs at a carbonization furnace burning highest temperature of 800°C or higher, a thermoplastic composite formed by mechanically crushing and mixing the thus obtained charcoal having a specific surface area of 300 m2/g or higher and a thermoplastic resin is extruded, and surface specific resistance of the composite is 100to 107Ω/sq. Thus, a charcoal plastic member used for building or as a building material and excellent in deodorization and conductivity is provided.
