Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a cylindrical shaft having a stable shape.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a cylindrical shaft includes: a press punching step of punching out a cylindrical shaft formation member 60 from a metallic plate by a press; a cylindrically bending step of forming the cylindrical shaft by bending the cylindrical shaft formation member 60 in a cylindrical shape so that a pair of end faces 61a, 61b of the cylindrical shaft formation member 60 close to or come into contact with each other; and a stress adjustment step of applying an external force to the cylindrical shaft to adjust a residual stress in the cylindrical shaft. In one or both of the press punching step and the cylindrically bending step, a stress balancing process for balancing the stress state between lateral parts 62a, 62b and a center part 61c is performed when processing the lateral parts 62a, 62b including the pair of end faces 61a, 61b.
