Abstract:
First and second round blades (10, 12) having a plurality of transversely aligned blades with a rectangular cross-section are made to face each other, and the blades of the first round blade (10) are staggered on the same side in the transverse direction in relation to the corresponding blades of the second round blade (12). A metal strip (16) is wound onto the first round blade (10) without coming into contact with the second round blade (12). With the metal strip (16) pressed against the first round blade (10), the rotating first and second round blades (12) bite into the metal strip (16), thereby shearing the metal strip (16), forming a slit material (18) of a predetermined width.
