Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organopolysiloxane emulsion in which both end-hydroxy group-closed diorganopolysiloxane is used as a raw material, and a production of byproducts of D4 and D5 in high-molecular-weight organopolysiloxanes obtained by adding polyhydric alcohol and carrying out an emulsion polymerization is further suppressed, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: Organopolysiloxane emulsion includes (A) diorganopolysiloxane shown in formula (1) H-[O-Si(R)]-OH (in which Ris a monovalent hydrocarbon radical and n is 5≤n≤100), in which each content of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane and decamethylcyclopentasiloxane is 1,000 ppm or less, (B) a surfactant, (C) 6C or less polyhydric alcohol, and (D) water, and is obtained by the emulsion polymerization of a mixture in which the blending quantity of the component (C) is 1-15 mass%. Each content of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane and decamethylcyclopentasiloxane in the organopolysiloxane after emulsion polymerization is 10,000 ppm or less.
