To provide a wind turbine generator providing quality electric power according to wind power without dropping on-wind availability.
This generator includes a retarder device 30 heating mineral oil when a wind turbine 2 is decelerated, a heat accumulation device 40 accumulating the mineral oil heated by the retarder device 30, a Starling engine 17 operated by heat of the mineral oil accumulated in the heat accumulation device 40, and an engine generator 18 driven by the Starling engine 17. The engine generator 18 is driven by the Starling engine 17 operated by heat provided by wind power, and the engine generator 18 is operated in a stable state thereby. Consequently, output voltage, output frequency and phase are equalized and quality electric power is provided without dropping on-wind availability by using wind power.
