To provide a rotary electric machine that strikes a balance between high power and high torque, while being miniaturized, thereby suppressing an increase of manufacture cost.
The rotary electric machine includes a stator 11 having armature windings 16 and a rotor 20 which includes a rotor core 21 and a plurality of permanent magnets 23 that are arranged inside the rotor core 21 and constitute a magnetic pole and which is rotatably disposed by facing the stator 11. The respective permanent magnets 23 are configured such that a pair of permanent magnets 22a and 22a with the same magnetic poles are detached in a circumferential direction of the rotor core 21 and are arranged in an almost V shape that becomes narrower toward a stator confronted face.
