Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably set both valve lift amount and operation angle according to an engine operation condition while using a variable valve mechanism in which both operation angle and valve lift amount are uniquely and continuously varied according to a rotation position of a control shaft driven by an actuator.SOLUTION: A rotation angle range αT of the control shaft is set such that a lift operation angle reduction section αdown in which both operation angle and valve lift amount are reduced and a lift operation angle increase section αup in which both operation angle and valve lift amount are increased appear in this order so as to interpose a returning point α2 according to rotation of the control shaft in a predetermined direction. Thereby, at set points α1 and α3, the valve lift amount is different even in the same operation angle.
