Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an ultrasonic motor with stable characteristics and a long life, where a design and a method of attaching a piezoelectric body used as a driving source is important and exhibition of piezoelectric properties to the maximum requires a uniform distortion property, while expansion of the application of the ultrasonic motor requires cost reduction and the production cost of the piezoelectric body occupies a large ratio in total cost, and the low cost of the piezoelectric body is essential to development of the ultrasonic motor.SOLUTION: An electric field is applied to the piezoelectric body with a jig only for polarization to polarize the piezoelectric body instead of polarizing the piezoelectric body with an electrode having an electrode structure formed on the piezoelectric body. Since decision of the electrode structure by an external jig increases mechanical accuracy, factors such as an abnormal discharge can be removed. Further, one electrode also can be removed in motor operation.
