Abstract:
To raise void fraction in a core while maintaining safety in order to efficiently burn plutonium in a boiling water reactor.
The higher void fraction easily causes dryout. Even if the dryout occurs, temperatures of nuclear fuel rods are analyzed, indicated and monitored so as to maintain the integrity of them. In order to calculate surface temperatures of cladding tubes in dryout states, formulae for deriving new heat transfer coefficients and cladding tube calculation formulae are shown.
