To provide a method for preventing biomass adhesion to an apparatus and piping, etc. installed in a biomass gasification system.
This biomass treatment comprises a step of treating the biomass by hot water in the presence of a nonmetallic catalyst at a condition of a temperature of 100-250°C and a pressure of 0.1-4 MPa, a step of introducing the resultant biomass slurry containing the nonmetallic catalyst to a heater to heat it, a step of introducing the heated biomass slurry to a preheater to preheat it, a step of introducing the preheated biomass slurry to a reactor and hydrothermally treating the slurry at a condition of a temperature of ≥374°C and a pressure of ≥22.1 MPa. In the biomass treatment, impact is given on an inside, having the adhered biomass slurry, of at least one of the heater, the reactor, and the piping which connects between the preheater and the reactor, and thereby the adhered biomass slurry is peeled from the inside.
