Abstract:
Triazo dye compounds (Q) are new. Triazo dye compounds (Q) of formulae (III) or (IV) are new. M : H, a metal cation or an ammonium cation (optionally substituted by 1-18C-alkyl or 1-18C-hydroxyalkoxylalkyl); A : substituted benzene group of formula (V) or substituted naphthalene group of formula (VI); B 1> : a substituted benzene group of formula (VII) or a substituted naphthalene group of formula (VIII); R 1>-R 10> : 2-12C-amide, 2-12C-sulfonamide (both optionally substituted by COOM, OH, OCH 3, NH 2, Cl, COOCH 3or COOCH 2CH 3), H, SO 3M, NO 2, COOM, CN, halo, ester, 1-6C-alkyl or 1-6C-alkoxyl; R 11>-R 18> : 2-12C-amide, 2-12C-sulfonamide (both optionally substituted by COOM, OH, OCH 3, NH 2, Cl, COOCH 3or COOCH 2CH 3), H, SO 3M, NO 2, COOM, halo, ester or 1-6C-alkoxy; and m-p : 0 or 1, where m and n is preferably 1. An independent claim is included for (1) the preparation of (IV); (2) the preparation of (V) comprising diazotizing an azo-8-amino-naphthalen-1-ol compound of formula (XIX) and subsequently reacting with azo-8-amino-naphthalen-1-ol compound of formula (XX), and coupling the compounds in a less basic pH of 7-9; and (3) an ink for ink jet printing and for writing purpose comprising (I) or its mixture and further one or more another dye.
