Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breakwater which has a simpler structure than a conventional water gate structure which is made of steel and has watertight performance, and is reducible in weight.SOLUTION: The breakwater is a box body comprising a structure having steel tubes 11, 12, 13, 21, 31, 22, and 23 as members arranged in a slit shape, and breaks and damps waves, and achieves protection against dust in a semi-submersible state. The breakwater has a membrane material 50 arranged between the steel tubes in a square section of the box body, and steel-made wave breaking screens 60 outside both sides. Waves entering a port from an ocean side are broken primarily by the screens 60 arranged on the ocean side of the box body. Waves passing therethrough are broken secondarily when passing through beltlike fiber sheets 50a, 50 arranged at constant intervals at a box body intermediate part, and further broken tertiarily by the screen 60 arranged inside the port.
