Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL display device which can realize optimum color synthesis by exerting luminescent region control matched to the characteristic of a white organic material for every pixel.SOLUTION: An organic EL display device of the present invention comprises a plurality of pixels, which each include: a reflection layer which reflects light; a plurality of first electrodes having light permeability; one or more organic layers covering the plurality of first electrodes and also including a luminescent layer; and a second electrode having semipermeable reflectivity, the foregoing being formed in order on a substrate. In the organic EL display device, the first electrode is different in film thickness every pixel of color differing in the wavelength of light resonating by reflection between the reflection layer and the second electrode. An insulating film is provided on the substrate so as to cover the peripheral part of the first electrode, and the insulating film has openings which let the surface of the first electrode be partially exposed and also have their aperture areas different every pixel.
