Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noise reduction device that is reducible in hardware scale as a noise reduction filter while carrying the capability in noise reduction processing as a noise reduction filter.SOLUTION: The noise reduction device includes line memories which store luminances of pixels Px arrayed on scanning lines L in a filter object region F, and are as many as the scanning lines L in the filter object region F for the noise reduction processing on the filter object region F by using a luminance of a center pixel Px24 of a digital image formed of a plurality of pixels Px scanned in order with scanning lines L in a fixed direction and luminances of other pixels Px at a periphery of the center pixels Px24. In this case, the number of pixels Px11 to Px17 on the scanning line L in the filter object region F is set to be larger than the number of pixels in a direction perpendicular to the scanning line L.
