Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure diagnosis device of an internal combustion engine capable of suitably estimating a failure location inviting a rough idle, and to provide a control device of the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A failure diagnosis device of an internal combustion engine includes the steps of: counting a decrease frequency of a workload equivalent value being an index value of the workload of an internal combustion engine for each combustion during idling (S104); and recording the lowest intake pressure, the lowest rail pressure, and the highest EGR excess ratio of the internal combustion engine in the generation period of decrease in the workload equivalent value, as data for diagnosis (S112) when the decrease frequency exceeds a default (S109:YES). The data for diagnosis recorded here is used to estimate a failure location of the internal combustion engine causing a rough idle by multi-cylinder abnormal conditions at the failure diagnosis of the internal combustion engine using an external diagnostic tool.
