Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compatibly enhance fuel consumption and exhaust emission properties by controlling the operation of a turbocharger based on a target supercharging pressure and ensure the reliability of an exhaust system by preventing an exhaust pressure from being excessively raised in an on-vehicle engine with the turbocharger.SOLUTION: A controller (PCM 10) sets a guard opening of a flow rate adjusting valve (regulate valve 64a) not exceeding a predetermined upper limit exhaust pressure based on an exhaust pressure grasped by an exhaust pressure grasping means and adjusts the opening of the flow rate adjusting valve according to the guard opening when a transmission is in the low speed step not more than the determined step and when the opening of the flow rate adjusting valve feedback controlled based on the target supercharging pressure become smaller than the guard opening.
