Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deal with a driver's requirement drive torque while conducting catalyst warming-up by engine control suitable for the catalyst warming-up during the travel of a hybrid vehicle comprising an engine and a motor.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle has a driving system comprising a transverse engine 2 and a motor/generator 4, a belt type continuously variable transmission 6 interposed between the motor/generator 4 and front wheels 10R and 10L, and a second clutch 5 interposed between the motor/generator 4 and the belt type continuously variable transmission 6. The hybrid vehicle is provided with a catalyst 2b which purifies exhaust gas from the transverse engine 2, and a catalyst warming-up control means which warms up the catalyst 2b to an active temperature by the transverse engine 2. The catalyst warming-up control means sets the second clutch 5 to a slip engaged state by motor rotation number control and speed control during catalyst warm-up operation, and controls a clutch engaging capacity of the second clutch 5 to a capacity to transmit a driver's requirement drive torque to the front wheels 10R and 10L while maintaining the slip engaged state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
