Abstract:
The present invention relates to an oil filter structure for an internal combustion engine. An oil filter structure provided in an internal combustion engine including an engine case (20) includes anoil filter (120), the oil filter including a filter element (123) housed in a filter housing (121), wherein the filter element (123) is of a hollow cylindrical shape; the filter housing (121) is of atubular shape having an open end and a closed end and is integrally formed on an outer wall of the engine case (20); the open end of the filter housing (121) is closed by a lid (122); and the filter housing (121) has a groove (V) defined in a cylindrical inner peripheral surface thereof and extending from the open end thereof into the filter housing (121) axially along a central axis (Lf) of the filter housing. The oil filter structure allows the oil filter to be as small as possible and to be maintained with ease.
