Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a positive electrode active material composite for a lithium ion secondary battery, which enables an efficient manufacturing process and which allows a resultant secondary battery to exhibit superior durability and an excellent rate characteristic.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a positive electrode active material composite for a lithium ion secondary battery, which includes particular lithium composite oxide particles composed of lithium composite oxide secondary particles (A) and having particular lithium-based polyanion particles (B) coating surfaces of the lithium composite oxide secondary particles, comprises the steps of: (X) firing mix powder including a predetermined compound to obtain lithium composite oxide secondary particles (A); (Y) granulating, by spray drying, a slurry including lithium-based polyanion primary particles obtained by subjecting a predetermined compound to a hydrothermal reaction and a carbon source and then, firing resultant granules, thereby obtaining granulated bodies (C) consisting of lithium-based polyanion particles (B) having carbon supported on their surfaces, and adjusted to 45-80 vol.% in porosity; and (Z) mixing the lithium composite oxide secondary particles (A) obtained in the step (X), and granulated bodies (C) obtained in the step (Y) while applying a compressive force and a shearing force thereto, thereby compounding the lithium composite oxide secondary particles (A) and the lithium-based polyanion particles (B) having carbon supported on their surfaces while collapsing the granulated bodies (C).SELECTED DRAWING: None
