PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable capable of promoting mode coupling with respect to optical fibers through which plural modes are transmitted.SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable includes: plural optical fibers 11 through which plural transmission modes are transmitted; and a mode coupling part such as a long period grating and a rugged sheet 21 that changes the refraction index of the plural optical fibers 11 in a longitudinal direction of the plural optical fibers 11 at a predetermined pitch width Wequivalent to a propagation constant difference among transmission modes of the optical fibers 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
