Abstract:
The objective of the invention is to provide a battery pack that, while connecting in series a plurality of rectangular batteries, allows the number of components to be reduced so as to be mass-produced inexpensively, and furthermore, allows the production process to be facilitated so as to be produced efficiently. The battery pack comprises a plurality of rectangular batteries (1) disposed in a layered state and connected in series to one another, and a protective element (5) that detects the temperature of these rectangular batteries (1) and interrupts the current. The plurality of rectangular batteries (1) are layered in such an orientation that the respective terminal surfaces (1X) are disposed in the same direction, while the protective element (5) is disposed in such a manner as to face the terminal surfaces (1X) of the rectangular batteries (1) and is connected to a lead (3) whereby neighboring layered rectangular batteries (1) are connected in series.
