Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas treatment device capable of favorably flowing an exhaust gas at the outer peripheral part of a honeycomb structure while suppressing the deterioration of pressure loss.SOLUTION: In an exhaust gas treatment device including a honeycomb structure 4 and a can body 21 housing the honeycomb structure 4 inside: the honeycomb structure 4 has a different structure from a central cell structure 15 and an outer periphery cell structure 16; the can body 21 has a cylindrical trunk 22, an inflow taper part 31 and an inflow pipe 33 disposed at the upstream side end part of the inflow taper part 31; and equation (1)-(4) such as (1):0.26≤r1/r2≤0.95, (2):d1/d2≥0.50, (3):θ1<120 and (4):(d1/r2)>0.1 are satisfied (where, the inside diameter of the inflow pipe 33 is d1 [mm]; the inside diameter of the trunk 22 is d2 [mm], the taper angle of the inflow taper part 31 is θ1 [°]; the diameter of the central cell structure 15 is r1 [mm], and the diameter of the honeycomb structure 4 is r2 [mm]).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
