Abstract:
To provide a premixing compression ignition type engine performing ignition assist, capable of preventing uneven distribution of flame propagation in a combustion chamber, and suppressing combustion noise and abnormal combustion.SOLUTION: A premixing compression ignition-type engine includes: a combustion chamber 6 generating a tumble flow Tu by intake air from an intake port 9 and compressing igniting and burning an air-fuel mixture; an injector 14 for injecting a fuel toward a central region in a radial direction B of the combustion chamber 6; an ignition plug 13 including an ignition portion 13A; and an ignition control portion for controlling an ignition timing. The ignition portion 13A is disposed at a position eccentric to an intake side where an intake port 9 is disposed in the combustion chamber 6, and in a confluent region M where the tumble flow Tu flowing along a cavity 5C and a squish flow Sq jetted from a squish formation face 51 are joined. The ignition control portion controls the ignition plug 13 so that the air-fuel mixture is forcibly ignited at a timing before a compression top dead center.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
