Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery which has superior charge and discharge cycle characteristics even in the case of using a positive electrode active material showing a high operating potential.SOLUTION: A lithium ion secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode including a lithium manganese nickel composite oxide as a positive electrode active material; a negative electrode including a lithium titanium composite oxide as a negative electrode active material; and an electrolyte solution containing an organic solvent with a lithium salt dissolved therein. The electrolyte solution contains dimethyl carbonate, the content of the dimethyl carbonate is over 70 vol.% to a total volume of the electrolyte solution. The lithium ion secondary battery further comprises a surface coating layer including an inorganic component on the negative electrode; the surface coating layer is 45 nm or less in thickness.SELECTED DRAWING: None
